    In Olathe from out of town, I had my oil changed at a quickie place. Somehow, all the oil leaked out of my car soon thereafter. So I had it towed back to the quickie place who told me they suspected a hole in the oil pan or a leak in the adhesive that connects it to the engine block. Something they obviously didn't do? and couldn't fix. I called a tow truck and had to deliberate where to take it. The man at the oil change place suggested DNJ but I was Larry because he suggested it. When the tow truck driver pulled up, I asked him, where should I take it? He said how about D&J in Olathe they're honest they're good and they're family owned. So I thought OK Tow it there. Boy am I glad I did! Not only did they diagnose it properly. They also got it done within the next few hours understanding that I was stranded. Husband and wife team and perhaps their daughter works there too? Got me out of there under $600. Two other shops I called quoted me 20 hours of labor and couldn't even look at it until Monday. Over the Fourth of July holiday without a car in a strange city I don't think so! I'm so glad I found D&J. I may drive to Kansas City more often just to have them work on my car. :)

    Sold me a 06 Highlander with 171k miles for $5300. Vehicle didn't even make it 2500 miles or a month before the transmission went out on me. Broke down 7hrs from home, doing easy highway miles. He kindly offered to put in a used transmission for $5600 or buy the vehicle back for $1,000 lol! I was able to find somebody who specializes in these Toyotas to put in a used transmission with a warranty for $2,200. I get it's a old used vehicle but for over $5k I shouldn't have major issues right off the bat. Gave him a chance to make it right with no luck unfortunately.

    This place is amazing. They go above and beyond to ensure they take care of their customers. We had an issue that should have been covered by our car’s warrantee. Well, the warrantee place denied it the first time. They got on the phone with the warrantee company and made sure it was covered. They also do a great job communicating what is wrong, what needs to be done, and what to expect moving forward. I just moved to KC and I know where I will take my vehicles if they ever need to be fixed! Highly recommended!

    Very happy with the Guys at D & Js Auto. They performed warranty repairs for our shop in Littleton, CO, and were extremely professional and fair priced.     We started out using D&J for basic maintenance tasks for our company fleet. We had 2 separate F-150's go in for engine replacement and both times D&J had all of the work completed in about a week. One vehicle had extended warranty coverage on the engine and D&J worked directly with the warranty provider to make sure all was paid for. D&J even worked to make sure they paid for additional sensors that initially the warranty wouldn't cover. Overall we had a $14k+ repair and I only had to pay $300+ out of pocket. Great company to work with from a basic oil change to a complete engine replacement.

    My son called me at 3pm on Friday, stating his car died and was on the side of the road. I call D and J Automotive described what happened. They said to bring it on in. I was expecting to maybe get it back Monday or Tuesday. Not only did they look at it Friday, but they had the alrernator replaced by 5pm. Never have I received such quick, honest and reasonable service on a vehicle. I will recommend these guys to everyone now.

    I took my vehicle to three other shops that couldn't figure out the issue, and D&J had it properly diagnosed within hours. Where other shops threw expensive parts at the problem, D&J properly diagnosed the issue and saved my vehicle from the potential of a major issue in a short amount of time.     We have moved all of our mechanical needs for our vehicles from an old shop that we have been using over d&J's automotive. Ever since we have done this the service has been outstanding. They text and email pictures and estimates for the cars to be repaired. They are very very easy to work with. They have great service and prices. Wish we would have known about them years ago.     Took van in for inspection for my transmission for 2nd opinion, since the 1st said $3800+. D&J said $4500+ and/or just trade it in or junk it if I'm not getting it from them! So I took it to another place for a 3rd opinion... 3rd times the charm! It wasn't the transmission, it was the part that tells the transmission to shift(mounded to the transmission/wiring)! So it only cost me under $500! Shouldn't take advantage of people or WOMEN like that! 1ST TIME AND LAST TIME GOING HERE! SHAME ON YOU! You give mechanics a BAD NAME! Always get a 2nd or 3rd or even a 5th opinion cuz there's good ones still out there! Certified transmission saved me!

    They were very honest and up front from the very start. I was torn on weather to fix my 07' RAV4 or let it go where all cars go to die. They shared with me their own personal experiences as well as listened to me what I needed from them. I got it fixed and the repair job was top notch. I come from a family of car guys so I know a little bit about cars myself and what's a kind of lookout for and how much stuff should cost and so I wasn't completely blind going into the situation I knew that it was going to be costly but they were very reasonable and their work was excellent they kept me updated the whole entire time as far as you know what was being done and what was left to do and when it was ready to be picked up and it was done before they said it would be so that was a plus and the ladies in the office are definitely what drew me to go there in the first place is because I really felt a connection with them as far as you know feeling comfortable being a single woman going to get mechanic work is sometimes the scary situation because it's so often women in general are taking advantage of and I had taken it to two other shops in town where that is in the exact vibe that I got was that I just had no clue as to what needed to be done to my vehicle and you know the price they gave me was completely ridiculous so I felt like I got a pretty fair deal I would definitely recommend taking your vehicle D&J's and tell the ladies in the office what your issue is and they will definitely help you 100% they are very friendly.

    I had taken my car several places because it periodically wouldn't start. They told me there was nothing they could do unless the problem was happening right then. Here they said if I was willing to leave it they would keep my car until it wouldn't start so they could figure out the problem. I was thrilled they would do this. I took it in and they called me a couple hours later and had already figured out the problem. Everyone I spoke with was very kind and I now have a reliable car again!

    I was recommended this place by an acquaintance after doing hours upon hours of research on different maintenance shops. I am a first time car owner and reading about how if you take your car to the wrong place, they can make it even WORSE, which made my anxiety around car repairs even more debilitating. From the moment I spoke to someone on the phone to the moment my car was given back to me, I was treated with so much respect and understanding, I was blown away! I've been having issue after issue with my car and the first step was to get it diagnosed. They checked everything (and i mean everything), explained everything VERY well and I was never talked down to, even for a second. The final determination was made that my car isn't worth the repairs and I 100% agree because they explained everything down to a level I could understand. They even fixed my window (which wasn't part of initial diagnostic stuff) and the mechanic that personally worked on my car was so down to earth. The only thing I can imagine getting done on my car before I get a new one is new tires, and even though this shop quoted me the most of all the other shops I've looked at, I'd feel 100% more comfortable going to them over somewhere I've never been before. Will be returning with any future car repairs, for certain! Definitely first time car owner with anxiety approved haha

    Summer of 2022 had A/C service and repair. I was satisfied with the service and professionalism. This week, February 23, 2023, I kept a 9 AM appointment for Oil Change and Tire Repair made with Sean over the phone several days earlier. He couldn't find my appointment in the system. I reminded him of our verbal conversation over the phone. Sean, with whom I made the appointment said, "Too bad, you'll have to wait two hours to get in. Others are ahead of you. I can't just squeeze you in for an oil change." I was stunned and shocked by his attitude. He said that some other people may have got into the system and messed things up. It's like getting bumped on an airline reservation. Not once did I hear the word "sorry" or "apologies." I will not do business with D&J's Automotive again.

    I bought a 2009 Mini with 195,000 + miles. I understand there would be some mechanical issues, but when I took it to a Mini Dealer they had over $10,000 in recommended repairs. When I called and spoke to them and the owner basically said the Mini mechanics were just up charging me. The Mini dealer has records the business took the car to them twice before, but ignored the recommended repairs and then sold the car to me knowing these issues. When I asked the owner if he had taken the car to Mini, he lied to me and said it never happened. DO NOT TRUST THEM.

    James, I apologize you feel we are untrustworthy. You purchased a 12 year old vehicle, that has over 195,000 miles for $2,412.00. We informed you and your son, prior to your son purchasing, the problems with the vehicle we were aware of. We also stated this was an A to B car, our online stated this was an A to B car and that it was a mechanics special. Prior to purchasing the vehicle we informed you and your son there would not be a warranty, you and your son agreed and your son signed documentation to that affect also. Again, I apologize you feel we aren’t trustworthy, however, that is why we had the car priced so economically and discussed what we knew about the vehicle prior to your son purchasing.

    I had my car towed here because I heard that they were the best repair shop in Olathe by the tow company. Once my vehicle was dropped off, they let me know that they would diagnose it and give me a call by the evening. Never got a call I called back the next day still didn’t look at my vehicle, they kept telling me they would have someone call me. I went up there that afternoon because of still no call or anything, they let me know that it was gonna be the next car looked at . I then left and got a call later that day letting me know that something in my transmission is off the chain and I need the transmission replaced and it would cost me $3,000 to get it done. Here comes the issue, I’m pretty sure all they did was hook it to a computer to get a diagnostic, they never looked at my car under the vehicle nothing. I then took the vehicle to a shop in independence Missouri who has always worked on my car and is very very honest! I ONLY NEEDED A PIECE FIXED THAT COSTED $130. This place almost got me for $3,000 saying my transmission was bad. I will never go to this shop again. My transmission is in excellent shape. I almost got my transmission replaced because of this shop, I told the shop in independence to re-look over my car because I felt they were not being honest. We never had any issues with the transmission and that’s why I told him to re-look over my vehicle and I’m so glad that I did, I almost wasted money for NO REASON but for their gain.

    Tamera, We checked our records and found the notes from when you came in back in February. Our records show that you called to inquire about a vehicle that had been sitting for 2 years. During that initial phone call, we told you that it may be 3-4 days before we could get to it but you were more than welcome to have it towed to the shop. Upon initial inspection, your battery was dead. After that we let you know the battery needed to be replaced but you declined a new battery. It would not charge on the vehicle, we pulled the battery out and charged it. Once the battery took a temporary charge, we installed it back into the vehicle and had to keep the charger hooked up to it the entire time to do the diagnostics because it kept losing voltage. There were several low voltage codes (due to the battery) and an internal transmission fault code for incorrect gear ratio. Both the CV axles going into the transmission were damaged also. Since the transmission had an internal fault/ failure, we felt simply replacing the axels was pointless and the state of the transmission could be a safety issue. The $130 you paid the other shop was likely for a new battery or one axel which would provide a temporary solution. At our shop we do not do any partial repairs when there is an impending safety issue involved. We understand replacing your transmission is an expensive repair and it can be frustrating to have to deal with but we recommend making sure it gets taken care of as soon as you possibly can. We hope we were able to clear up any misunderstandings about the situation. Please reach out to us if you have any further questions.
